Classic Party Modes Back
Prop Hunt hits right at launch, and it’s still one of those modes where you tell yourself you’ll play for ten minutes and you’re still hiding as a bin an hour later. You’re a random prop, you whistle every so often, and the other team sprints past you without a clue. It’s perfect for cooling down after ranked. Alongside that, One in the Chamber returns. One round you’re frying with an SMG, the next you’re stuck with some awkward pistol and have to make it work. A bit later in the launch window we get the nostalgia combo: Sticks Stones and Gun Game. Sticks Stones hands you a crossbow, ballistic knife and Combat Axe, and that axe is evil – landing one can wipe a huge chunk off someone’s score, so you’ll see people playing way more nervously. Gun Game is the same classic climb: one kill, next gun. Get melee’d and you drop a tier, which is still one of the funniest ways to tilt your mates in a lobby.
New Objective Play With Takeover
Mid‑season, the big experiment is Takeover. It looks like Domination at first glance – two teams, three zones – but the twist is the zones don’t stay put. After they’re captured there’s a cooldown, then the points shift to new spots. You can’t just sit on one power position all match, you’re forced to rotate and think ahead. Stack more players on a point and it caps faster, so suddenly it actually matters if your team listens and moves together. It’s the kind of mode where people who usually ignore the objective will realise pretty fast that solo hero runs just don’t cut it.
Holiday Events And Gear
The seasonal stuff looks fun rather than throwaway. Holiday Havoc is a moshpit where every objective you play feeds into “Holiday Cheer”, which then gives you goofy but useful buffs – like a Candy Cane melee boost that’ll make people think twice about taking a corner fight up close. Then there’s Snowfight, which is exactly what it sounds like: no guns, just snowballs and positioning. It’s the kind of mode you jump into late at night with friends when you’re done grinding camos.
