The partnership represents the second major project between the streaming giant and Mattel Television, following their previously announced collaboration on "Masters of the Universe: Revelation," a 2D anime series helmed by Kevin Smith.
The narrative centers on Eternia, where a young prince who has lost his way uncovers the mystical powers of Grayskull, transforming himself into He-Man, the ultimate champion of the universe. The timeless conflict between He-Man and the malevolent Skeletor escalates to unprecedented levels as both sides assemble powerful new alliances. Mattel Television is spearheading production, with executive producers Adam Bonnett (known for "Descendants"), Christopher Keenan (credited on "Justice League" and "Batman Beyond"), and Rob David (who worked on "Masters of the Universe: Revelation" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"). Rob David also developed the series for television.
Emmy Award-winning producer and designer Jeff Matsuda ("The Batman," "TMNT") and Susan Corbin ("Voltron") are attached as producers for the project.
Bryan Q. Miller, whose credits include "Arrow," "Smallville," and "Sleepy Hollow," has been brought on board as story editor.
Animation production duties are being handled by House of Cool and CGCG, the studios behind "Trollhunters."
